Snowman Soup

The past couple of weeks just flew by and I didn't have time to jump on here and blog about it, so the next couple of posts are going to be in rewind...

I got these cups below at Wal-Greens (Abby, I'm sure you saw these) for the kids at Hunter's daycare 8/$1 and was going to fill them with some candy and viola...a simple Christmas gift.

....but then one of my friends at work told me about Snowman Soup...and I had to steal her idea, with her okay, of course. I already had the cups and all I needed was...

  • 1 package of hot chocolate mix

  • 3 Hershey kisses

  • 10 mini marshmallows

  • 1 candy cane

and this little ditty...

"When the weather outside is frightful,

Snowman soup can be delightful.

May it warm your spirit and soul.

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!

When you feel a chill or a "burrrrr"

Use the peppermint stick to stir.

Add hot water and sip it slow.

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow."

Then I thought that was so much fun, I decided to do it for Hunters two teachers too and add the little Santa elves we made. Isn't he just the cutest!

BTW - Another mom ended up taking the same snowman soup to daycare for the kids. That's how it normally works for me. I haven't seen or heard about something and then all of a sudden I see it all over the place.

Oh isn't that frustrating? You try so hard to be unique and creative to have someone else steal your thunder...bummer!

For the record I think they are totally cute and may have to borrow your idea for a gift next year!

I liked the teacher one best. Nice that you didn't give her one in a kiddy cup. :)

We make snowman soup at school each year for the parents. I think it is so cute. I like your thing to go with it better than what I use. I can't remember what mine says, but your is much cuter.
