This evening our doorbell rang, which I have to say normally scares me at first because if someone is coming over we normally know about it in advance. I go over to look through the peep hole thinking it is going to be a kid selling something for school or a door to door sales person. I was pleasantly surprised to see my neighbor standing there.
I have to say we have the most thoughtful neighbors. It is a husband and wife who's kids are grown and out on their own who I would guess are in their 50's. The wife has brought us dinner over on more than a handful of occasions. A couple of the times she brought it over because she knew Matt was out of town for work and thought it would help me out. She has brought over homemade salsa before, a little gift for Hunter on Easter and Christmas and on Christmas she actually brought over a bone for our dog.
Today when I opened the door she had a tray in her hand with 4 little heart-shaped individual cakes! She said that it was her husband's birthday and she baked extras to share with us. Awww, how sweet, that just goes beyond thoughtful!! I have to say Hunter was more than happy to carry them in for her and he didn't even wait for her to leave before he was trying to get his lips on one.
Just thought I would share....it's always nice to hear about random acts of kindness in today's day and age.
