Little book of Horror

This morning while I was trying to get my makeup on, I noticed I hadn't seen our 4 month German shepherd puppy in a while and it had gotten mighty quiet. I've learned with the puppy, she is similar to Hunter. When it is deathly quiet for a while, it is probably a good idea to go check it out. I found this book on the dining room floor tore apart. My heart sank and I felt sick to my stomach. After my initial shock of seeing the book, I had to get our shepherd puppy out of my sight before I hurt her.

This book was given to Hunter on the day he was born by my brother. My brother wrote in the inside of book to Hunter and dated it. I read it to Hunter when he was in the NICU. I remember the first time I read it my dad and brother were there as I was reading it to Hunter. I had not read it before and when I started reading about "big Nut brown hair" and "little Nut brown hair", I started to giggle. Then I look at Terry and we both start laughing over the names they chose for the rabbits. I am sitting here giggling as I am typing this, that there we were, as adults reading a kids story and laughing over the wording of "nutbrown's". When Hunter got out of the NICU and was at home this was the book I read to him the most when he was a baby.

With all this being said this is why when I saw it this morning I got emotional. This is a book I planned on packing away to give to Hunter when he is older to pass onto his kids.

Looks, like before my trip to Kansas I will be going out to buy the book, so I can have my brother put his special touch in it again.

I'm sorry for your loss.
I've always noticed that dogs seem to destroy the things that are the most loved. At least that was how it always happened in our home. It's like they can smell the many scents over the years. In their minds they must think, "wow, this must be a GREAT thing for me to love on!"
