My driving skills...

I'm at a crossroads with a goal. With some recent events, I have decided that I need to set a goal for myself. Let me just start out by saying before this past year I have never gotten a speeding ticket and have gotten in one car accident which actually wasn't my fault. I must say my luck has run out!

Let me start out with a year ago this time I got a ticket for running a yellow/red light. I know. I know. I should have stopped, but I thought I could beat it. Then last month I got a speeding ticket for going 40 in a 25. When this happened I was not in a hurry. It was Saturday and Hunter and I were going grocery shopping and I was focusing more of my time on him and talking to him, when I should have been paying more time on the road and the speed. When I pulled over on the side of the road and was waiting for the officer to walk up, Hunter asked me "Mom are we at Winco?" (the store we were going shopping at) I replied, "No, mommy is getting pulled over by the policeman, because mommy wasn't following the rules". Ya, not one of my most prized mom moments.

I should have known that was not it for my car experiences, since most things come in threes. Last night after swimming lessons I went to get the car to pull it up to the building to pick up Matt and Hunter, because it was raining. I was backing up and I heard a crunch looked in my side mirrors didn't see anything looked in my rear view and saw the top of something. I got out and there was a little sports car that I had just hit. $#&@*!!! I couldn't believe it! The car was parked and nobody in sight. I ran up to tell Matt and then we spent the next 20 minutes trying to find the owner. The owner was a college student and was very nice about it. We exchanged insurance information and was on our way.

So here I am...at a need for a goal! My new goal to be a more responsible safer driver, drive the speed limit and pay more attention to the road and my surroundings.

Yeah good luck with that Mario Andretti. You have only been lucky it took you this long. After reading about how you thought Hunter would be scared on the ride at Chuckee cheese I was just thinking he has to ride with you.

That goal sounds a little bit too lofty. That would be almost next to impossible to achieve it. For a more realistic goal, maybe something like memorizing all the serial killers moms names in maybe the oregon and washington area. That could serve as a duel purpose,..actually 3 purposes. First if one of the serial killers approached you, all you would have to say is "now dont you think that your mom might be a little ashamed of you? but you would actually know the name. Whereinlies the beauty of reason number 2. your not dead then. Third reason is your not stuck tryin to achieve that monumental goal you set for yourself. And the beauty of it....day and age of the internet...easy mom names to find. well , a little food for thought for you.... Love gramps
