Sick update

So after a long day on Wednesday with a lot of vomiting, Hunter stayed home with Matt on Thursday and seemed to be doing better. He was able to keep down fluid and yogurt and Popsicles and didn't throw up all day. Then right before bed he threw up. Matt and I figured we should have stopped at one Popsicle instead of letting him have 2.

Friday morning he seemed to being doing fine, just getting around a little slower than usual, so Matt took him to daycare. I got a call about 10:20 from our babysitter who told me that Hunter was dry heaving and miserable. So I left work as fast as I could to pick him up, feeling guilty that we took him to daycare when he wasn't back up to par.

To make a long story short we took him to the hospital and they hooked him up to an IV and gave him 2 bags of fluid for dehydration.

Hunter was such a big guy getting poked with the needle to get his IV fluid. It was hard for me to believe he didn't cry, scream or move around at all when they gave him the shot....could have also been because he didn't have the energy to. He just looked at the nurse with furrowed eyebrows. I was getting queasy watching the nurse trying to find the vein in his hand.

Today after getting the fluids Hunter is bopping around the house playing and chatting up a storm. He has had half of a pancake, yogurt, applesauce and a hard boiled egg (the egg was his choice).

Of course the way it works dear ole' mom, now has a sore throat, is congested and weak.

I am glad he is doing better. It is never fun having sick kids. It is heartbreaking! Mandy

Hunter does look really tired and wiped out. Glad to hear he is back up and at it again.
Now mom you just need to take of your self also.
