Homeade ice pops

Hunter has a new show he has been into the past month or so...Special Agent Oso on the Disney Channel. If you have a pre-school age kid it is a great show to teach kids how to problem solve and complete tasks.

Anyways the other day Hunter was watching Special Agent Oso and they were making homemade ice pops and after the show Hunter wanted to make them too. I had these when I was a kid and had forgot how easy they were to make until I looked them up online. Here's where I got the recipe.

Ingredients

1 (3 oz) package fruit flavored gelatin mix
1 unsweetened, flavored soft drink mix
1 cup white sugar
1 cup boiling water

Hunter's favorite part of making the ice pops was putting the toothpicks in...anything he thinks he can use as a super hero weapon is cool.

Since we have an ice maker in our fridge I had gotten rid of our ice cube trays. I actually used a Silicone bakeware tray to freeze the pops and it worked really good, plus it was fun to have some cool shapes. The only problem with the silicone is that the plastic wrap didn't stay very tight on the top to keep the toothpicks straight up and down as you can see by the picture.

Hunter loved the final product!

how fun! We had a little 8 pack container to make popsicles when I was a kid. I have a set too but have yet to do it. I think we always used Kool-aid.

perfect time for making that treat!

That looks like a fun time. I remember making them too when I was young. So much fun! Lauren likes Special Agent Oso too.

That is funny. Terry made Kool-aid pops with the kids once. Must be something you guys did when you were little.
