What have we been up to....

Thanksgiving - Thanksgiving morning I wake up and run outside to get "The Paper". The black Friday paper. I am like a kid opening presents as rip through the ads deciding what I am going to get the next morning and what stores we are going to.

In the afternoon we did our normal tradition of going to Matt's dad's house for turkey dinner. It was nice to see family and feed our belly's with good comfort food.

Christmas tree - We got a new artificial tree this year. Seems kind of wrong to get a fake tree when we live in a state that ships Christmas trees to other places. Well after last year with spiders and little black eggs on our ceiling and the water leaking on our carpet and leaving a stain we opted to go fake. I looked all over for a tree without lights already on it, which didn't leave many. It was very hard to find a tree without lights that didn't look cheesy. If we were going to go pre-lit, Matt wanted LED. I found a LED tree that looked pretty full and as close to real as you can get with fake. I was a little worried the LED would be to bright in the house, but it actually isn't and I LOVE IT! It is one of my all time favorite trees! ( I need a better picture of the tree lit)

Hunter loved playing in the tree box. We actually had to hide it when he was taking a nap, because he didn't want to give it up.

Black Friday - Ok, I love black Friday! I have been going for about 6 years now and I love the high of getting the good deals. Matt has been going with me for about 3 or 4 of those years and he actually thought this year was one of the best years he has gone. (maybe it was the GPS navigation system he got) We were both exhausted by noon on Friday from going to all the stores, but was well worth it...I think one of my best gifts this year was a Leapster for Hunter that is normally $69.99 and I got it for $32.99.

Alone time - Thanksgiving night Hunter stayed the night with the Grandparents and we picked him up Saturday afternoon. It was nice to have some alone time as adults. We got some take-out from Olive Garden Friday night and came home to watch 27 Dresses. What a great movie! Funny, we were kidless and still hung out at home...

Christmas lights - Sunday, Matt, Hunter and I put up our outside lights. Ok, Hunter not so much, but he did go through the totes of lights and organize the bulbs.

I am now 33!! - Hunter and Matt came to work to take me out to lunch. When I got home from work Matt had Hunter were both dressed up and ready to take me out to eat. Hunter was so excited when I got home for me to open my b-day presets. He gave me the gift from him. It cracked me up when he handed it to me and says, "Mom can I help you open your candle?" =)Matt got me new T-Fall pots and pans. Woohoo! I have had the same pots and pans since we were married in 1999 and was in need of some new ones. Yah, I don't think scrambled eggs and omelets are supposed to stick to your pans....

Happy Late Birthday greeting. I did know it was your birthday coming up but the time got away. It sounds like you had a great time and that is wonderful.
