We are starting a new tradition this year. I wanted to get this last year, but couldn't bring myself to spend the money on it. So when I saw
Elf on the Shelf at Hallmark a week ago I had to get it. It is a little elf and a book. The elf comes out when the holiday season starts and leaves when Christmas is over. At night time he reports to Santa if the kids in the house have been naughty or nice that day. Then comes back to the house and is in a new spot each morning when the kids get up. Each morning the kids have to find where in the house he is. He is a magical elf that flies to the north pole and only talks to Santa not to the kids. Another rule is the kids cannot touch the elf. We decided to name him Elfy. Hunter was so excited and into the story in the book. It was so fun watching his face and all the questions he had when I was reading the book and explaining the elf to him.
When he woke up the next morning, he was still groggy, but the first words out of his mouth was "Elfy." I was at work the next morning, but Matt told me Hunter and Matt talked to Elfy about his trip to the North Pole the night before....;) Last night, Hunter said he loved Elfy.

1st morning

2nd morning
I have been joking with Matt that one morning he may find Elfy laying in bed next to him when I get up to go to work. He does not want to wake up to that little smiley face staring at him.....hehehehe

He is super cute, too bad Elfy isn't around all year for parents.
I may have to pick up Elfy for our house!
I'm so mean but I so would have to put Elfy next to hubby at night!!
I think this is a great idea and fun also....
