We went a couple weeks ago to a local place that you could paint ceramics. Hunter picked out a penguin Christmas ornament and I had been wanting to do a plate for the wall with his hand prints on it. Hunter liked painting the penguin, but what he really liked was putting his hands in the paint smearing it around on the table. Hunter loves crafts, but he is 3 and his attention span was just enough to get his penguin done. It was tough to get too into the plate I was doing once Hunter was done with his penguin, because he was getting antsy and not wanting to sit still anymore. He kept wanting to look at the ceramics on the tree and all I kept imaging his "looking" turning into the tree on top of with the ceramic ornaments in pieces.
I love Hunter's penguin and how it shows his age. I am not as happy with the plate that I did with the hand prints. I know I am my worst critique, but I learned from it and will have a game plan for the next time I go. I think the key is to definitely have a game plan of what you are going to paint and how you are going to paint it before you get there so you are not wasting time on that part.

ehhh, who really cares right? It's the memory and of having it for a long time. But I admit, I do the same thing and I really shouldn't.
Look at it this way, penguin shows his age...plate shows yours. LOL
