Yes, we have started the potty training task. It has been going on for a week now and it is like I am pulling Hunter's toenails off almost every time I tell him it is time to use the potty. He has been wearing pull ups during the day and diapers only at nap and bed time. We have done prizes from stickers to hot wheel cars when he has gone poopy or pee in the toilet. When he does go we praise him and go on and on about what a big guy he is. I have been setting a timer in the kitchen that I call the pee pee timer and when it goes off, it is time to go sit on the toilet. I have even been taking little maze books and activities books in there and doing them with him to get him to sit on the toilet longer. I feel like I am running out of ideas....Oh yah, I also tried the Cheerio trick today. He thought it sounded cool, but didn't want to do it....
This past week, Tuesday seemed to be the best day. He stayed dry from his nap time until bed. I thought after this we had met a break through and he was going to be going more in the toilet and less in the pull ups. Nope, not the case.
Today we went on the toilet about 8 times and he peed once in the toilet. The one thing that seems to work to keep him on the toilet and get results is to read to him. I found myself reading very slow to him tonight before bed when he finally went....oh my this is exhausting!

I found with boys it is easier if dad goes and shows him. They seem to want to go when they go.
It will get better...

Just stick with it. I dare say get rid of the pull ups so he knows how it feels to be wet and he won't like it. I would use a towel/mat where they had to sit in their underwear (the thicker training ones and you can use the plastic over them to protect your floors and furniture) but the pull ups feel too much like a diaper. I think it is confusing for the kids. Just my opinion. Sounds like you have tried all the tricks so Good luck!!!
I honestly think the two hardest things I have encountered as a parent are discipline and Potty training! Stick with it you are doing great I will tell you just when I would think about giving up with each one of them I would come around the corner and there they would be sitting on the toilet of their own accord! Its a wonderful mommy moment!
I am with Mandy on this. With Tytus when he was in Pullups he thought "hey that is what these things are for why use the potty." we went to the store and we picked out cool big boy underwear and it does take some accidents in them. But when we told him that he would have to go back to pullups instead of his cool big boy underwear I think it changed his attitude towards it.
