Last month Hunter finished another swim class and he is now swimming on his own. It was so fun to see the progression from a baby splashing around to swimming on his own. We found a swim instructor that is really good with kids and little boys in general. She is good about keeping Hunter on task and calling him on what he needs to be doing....she doesn't let him get away with not trying his hardest, she really pushes him. Which I love.

(The above pics are from Hunter's preschool art show)
Hunter's preschool ended the last week of May. I think I may have been more bummed than he was. I really liked his teacher. She was corky and you could tell she really enjoyed being with the kids. His kindergarten teacher has some big shoes to fill...=) We decided for Kindergarten we would do one more year at the private Catholic school before he goes to public school. The Kindergarten at the Catholic school is one of the only full day Kindergarten in our area. Instead of going half day to kindergarten and half day at daycare, we thought it would be more beneficial to do all day kindergarten with no daycare.
Hunter informed me the last week of preschool that he didn't want to go to kindergarten. I was surprised by the statement because he really likes school. I asked him why and he said "mom, it's going to be more hard and we won't get to play as much." I asked him where he heard it from and he didn't know. I talked with with him and let him know while he will be learning, he will still have fun with his friends and get to do new fun things. Cracked me up though, that he was thinking Kindergarten was going to be hard and it's just the beginning.

I have 2 kids that still can't swim even through years of swimming lessons so I am happy for you that Hunter picked it up. (not losing hope though, lol!) HOpefully you don't have the same problems I had with nathan when he had to start kindergarten! I will pray for you. LOL!!! I am sure Hunter will love it.
Erin told me the other day she didn't need to read any more because it is just something they expect 1st graders to do. Oh boy she has no idea how much reading is going to be expected from her over the years!
Hunter will love Kindergarten I just know it!
That is cute, a mind of a 5 year old and thinking Kgarten would be so hard. hehe I love it.
