A day in the snow...

If you don't have snow, you might as well drive to the snow. We packed up the dogs and all of our snow gear when I got off work Friday and drove to a motel close to Mt. Hood.

On Saturday morning when we were heading up the mountain we started out at the base of the mountain with rain coming down and no snow on the ground.

It always amazes me how you can go 18 miles from the base of the mountain where there is no snow and drive a short distance and everything is covered with white, wonderful goodness!
We started out with some tubing. The tubing place we went to was very busy and we actually ended up standing in line waiting to go down the mountain more than we tubed. We went down three times and decided to find a place to take the dogs and go play. The sun was out and the temperature was good and could you believe it that I actually at one point had to take some clothes off, because I was too hot.

Matt violating the snowman....=)

Hunter was a real trooper hiking around in the snow.

Oh what a day! We had such great family day hiking, throwing snowballs, playing with the dogs and just being together.

I must be great that you don't have far to go to play in the snow. That is better than having it all around you. Great pics.

Matt oh my goodness the shame the poor snow lady ;)

What fun you guys had!

I felt the same way when we lived in Alaska how amazing the temperature could drop in a few short miles!

What a fun weekend! You are fortunate to live in such a beautiful area! (Although I love the midwest and think it is beautiful too, just a different kind of beautiful). What fun! Love the pics, everyone looks so happy!
