Zoo Day

We decided this past weekend as a last minute thing we would go to the zoo. It was a cool overcast day and even though it looked like it was going to rain we lucked out didn't even have a drop.

This was our first time at the zoo this year. At our previous times at the zoo Hunter would seem to take everything in and really want to look at things. This time he was at a look and go phase. There were quite a few animals he would look at and be on his merry way. We had to slow him down a little.....;)

The elephants were my favorite this time. I fell in love with the newest addition to the zoo, baby Samudra. The baby elephant was born in August 2008. We were among the crowd of people that was enjoying watching baby Samudra playing with it's mom. It was so funny watching this big baby rubbing against his mom galloping along with so much energy. At one point he climbed on his mom's back only to fall off with his stumpy legs in the air...it was amazing to watch!
