Hunter has been loving hanging out in the garage with Matt lately. One of his favorite past times in the garage is sitting on the floor and laying out the tools from Matt's tool box.
The other day when Matt got home from running some errands he comes in the house with something behind his back. "Huuunnnnterrrr", Matt yells from the garage door. Hunter comes in from his bedroom and gets a crooked grin on his face. "What do you got behind your back dada?". I was wondering the same thing. I had know idea what Matt had either. I'm normally the one that gets the surprises for Hunter from daddy and mommy, so I was excited to see what was behind Matt's back too.
"I got a surprise for Hunter. I think Hunter has been a been acting like a real big guy lately and so I got Hunter a big guy surprise." Matt pulls out a grey toolbox from behind his back. Hunter runs over to Matt and quickly grabs the toolbox from Matt's hand and opens it up to find 3 screwdrivers placed inside. He holds them up with a huge grin on his face. "Look Momma, I have tools like daddy's!" He instantly looks at Matt and says, "What are we going to build, daddy?"
Matt walks by me and whispers, "looks like I need to take something apart or find something to put together", and walks into the garage. He comes back a little while later and tells Hunter he needs some help in the garage and for Hunter to bring his toolbox. Hunter jumps up and runs into the garage toolbox in tow. I go out to the garage and find Hunter helping Matt screw a hook into the wall to keep some of his extension cords organized. It was such a little thing, but to Hunter he was building big things! =)
It was fun watching how excited Matt was giving Hunter a gift that he put his time and effort into and watching how excited Hunter was to receive it.
