Gobbely Goo

We needed a fun activity to start the weekend of right...so tonight we decided to make some homemade goo. It is similar to homemade play-doh, but a lot runnier. I got the idea from one the books I got from the library...Playskool Toddler's Busy Book. We both had a good time playing in the goo and mushing it in his hands. Hunter kept saying we were gooly monsters. We will definitely being doing this again.

Ingredients (mix in no particular order)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 2 tablespoons cream of tarter
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 cup water
  • food coloring (optional and as desired)

Most of the things we have made in the kitchen have been edible. I told Hunter this was just to play with and not to eat. He had try for himself and was not pleased when he took a bite and realized mommy was right that it didn't taste good. I think the salt may have been a little too much...

The aftermath...

ugh! This would stress me out! What a mess...this is great as far texture and fine motor skills. I just don't know if I could do this one.

I agree with Mandy, I can't handle all the drippy mess. I'd have to try that one outside.
Funny how he tried to taste it. That'll learn him. =)
