The Tale of Despereaux

We went as a family to see The Tale of Despereaux. This was such an adorable kids animation. I loved the many different characters and the vivid colors. I fell in love with this mouse Despereaux that was littler than all others, but was more brave than any mouse. It has such a good moral for little kids.

Reminds me of myself sometimes...I got some dress pants back from the Cleaners the other day that I had to get altered to make shorter. I got them home to try them on and pulled them off the hanger...my first reaction was "Oh, nooo! They're to short...dang." As I m putting them on I am getting bummed thinking they are going to look like I shrunk them, but to my surprise they fit just right. I kind of chuckle to myself thinking, okay girl you are short. I am 5'3 something but in my mind I am 5'4 something. I can definitely relate to Despereaux....I see myself taller than what a really am.

This was Hunter's 3rd movie at the Theatres and the first time he didn't get bored in the movie at all. Normally, once he is full from popcorn he gets up and has to look around and wants to walk around, but not at this one. I really knew he liked it when we left he said, "Mom, let's pretend I am Despereaux!"

On a side note: Since seeing the movie I wanted to get Hunter the little Despereaux stuffed animal. I looked all over online and they apparently haven't released it to many stores. I found it on FAO Schwarz, which was Sold Out and Ebay had them listed for $80. I think I need to enlist in a little help from Steals and Deals. ;)

Well, I am sure Abby will find it no problem. :-) I am not the best online shopper....but contribute in other ways.

I will have to check this one out. It does look good!

April I just looked around a bit this morning and I can't seem to find that mouse for sale any where either? That is so weird that they would not have better planning with the movie being released! My best advice would be to call FAO to see if they can ship one from the store. I had to do that when Regan was about Hunter's age Dora the Explorer had just come out and she really wanted the doll for Christmas. NO ONE had it so I called them and they shipped it for me from their store. You might try calling your local Barnes and Noble or Borders as well?
