On Saturday we were in line at the grocery store and Hunter noticed the checkout guy at the grocery store had a patch on his eye. He says, "Look mom, it's a pirate!" I look over and notice that he is talking about checker in our line who is helping the person in front of us. I keep putting the groceries on the conveyor built thinking if I don't make a big deal about it and say, "Yep." he will stop talking about it. Then he points at the guy and says, "Mom, look he's right there!" I say "Yes, Hunter he has a patch on his eye. Don't point, it's not polite." Hunter keeps looking at the guy, but doesn't say anything.
When it was our turn I move forward hoping the guy didn't hear Hunter. I starting putting my pin number in to pay and the checkout guy says, "It is okay. Kids are just honest." He goes on to say "I have four kids. My youngest is 4 and so I understand how honest kids can be. Last week my 4 year says to one of her friends, "Your mom is fat just like my mom". I started laughing. "Yes, they are very honest." I say. He then looks at Hunter and and starts asking Hunter about what superheroes he likes as he is putting the groceries in our cart.
As we were leaving the store Hunter says, "Mom, that was a good pirate."

How sweet is that. Great story,,,and yes they are soooo honest.
We had a similar situation with a guy at Sam's club that check your receipt when you walk out. He was in a wheel chair and Regan asked him why are you always sitting in that chair. I thought I would die of embarrassment. But the guy was really nice about it and told her he got polio when he was a kid and his legs didn't work. He told me he would rather people ask then just stare. So I guess sometimes their honesty works out for the best
That is a very sweet story.
I don't know what all this talk about honest kids? My middle one is VERY proud at being a liar! Kids...
