Today we went to the local Farmer's Market for the first time. Every city in our area seems to have a Farmer's Market now once or twice a week. I've been wanting to check one out and with the Summer coming to an end wanted to make it before they were done.
I was so impressed with all of the local produce and am a little bummed I didn't make it earlier in the Summer. The produce was so fresh...you can tell by the picture above even the color of the veggies is so much more richer than the stores. The strawberries, no exaggeration are the best strawberries I have ever had. Normally the strawberries from the store I put a little sugar on them, but these ones are so sweet they don't need any sugar.
Most of the prices were cheaper than the stores. A couple of things I bought were the same as you can buy in the store, but for me to have fresh is worth the trip to the Farmer's Market.
